Hap Wilson is an iconic Canadian naturalist, author, and explorer who has paddled over 60,000 kilometres across Canada and led more than 300 wilderness expeditions.
Renowned for his hand-drawn canoe-route guidebooks and artistic maps, he has spent decades defending Canada’s wild spaces, notably co-founding the environmental organization Earthroots to protect Ontario’s old-growth forests.
An expert trail builder and International Fellow of the Explorer’s Club, Wilson even served as the personal wilderness instructor for Pierce Brosnan in the film Grey Owl. Today, he continues to champion conservation and sustainable tourism while operating the remote Cabin Falls Ecolodge deep within the Temagami wilderness with his wife, Andrea.
