These kids paddles are not meant to be ordinary.
Canoe Creatures are not typical kids canoe paddles. Handcrafted to spark creativity on and off the water, they are in a classification all their own.
You will notice right away that these kids canoe paddles are colourful, playful, and deliberately a little bit weird. And with funky, unexpected shapes instead of traditional symmetrical paddle blades, each one is ready to become something different.
Yes, even with all the weirdness, we still classify Canoe Creatures™ as canoe paddles. Each paddle is handcrafted and starts as a blend of premium hardwoods, like ash and sassafras, before becoming something even more extraordinary through a child’s imagination.
Because unlike ordinary children’s canoe paddles, Canoe Creatures are designed to be personalized. Every Canoe Creature paddle includes a Starter Sticker Sheet featuring our signature creature tail, colourful bubbles, and stars so the adventure begins right away.
Add one of our themed Paddle Sticker Sheets (sold separately) to create unicorns, monsters, fairy woodland creatures, or invent an entirely new species all your own!

The included Sticker Sheet features a signature tail plus over 20 more high quality, water-resistant vinyl stickers to help kickstart your little one’s creative adventure.

Add eyes, horns, hair and more using your chosen Paddle Sticker Sheet. (Or Sheets!) Let your child place the stickers where they like or help them if they are too little to do it themselves. Just remember, there is no wrong way to make a Canoe Creature. We have even had success with layering them a bit. All you need is a little imagination!

Are Canoe Creatures real canoe paddles?
Yes. Canoe Creatures are handcrafted colourfully tinted, wildly shaped, laminated, wooden paddles designed for young paddlers to help foster a positive paddling experience. They will definitely move water. Just remember Canoe Creatures are designed for fun, not speed or performance. You may, however witness a full recital with monster voices in the canoe or watch a spontaneous paddle puppet show at the campsite.

Are there different blade shapes available?
Yes.
There are several wonderfully weird shapes available. Canoe Creature canoe paddle blade outlines are ever evolving and may change from paddle to paddle. Because rather than following a rigid template, each blade is refined by hand, allowing its final shape to develop naturally.
What colours are available?
Canoe Creatures canoe paddles are hand-tinted in bright colours such as pink, purple, blue, green, yellow, orange and red… and sometimes the colours in between too, like turquoise!
Do Canoe Creature paddles come with stickers?
Yes. Every Canoe Creature includes one Starter Sticker Sheet featuring a signature tail, colourful bubbles, and stars.
Additional themed Paddle Sticker Sheets are sold separately.
Are the Paddle Sticker Sheets sold separately?
Yes. Additional Paddle Sticker Sheets are available to purchase separately so kids can continue adding to and customizing their Canoe Creature.
Do I have to buy paddle stickers to make my Canoe Creature?
Yes. While every Canoe Creature includes one Starter Sticker Sheet, you will have to choose and purchase additional Paddle Sticker Sheets separately if you want to add other features like eyes, horns, or claws. Each Paddle Sticker Sheet has a different theme and is sold individually. This way, your child gets the stickers they actually want, and you aren’t left with unwanted unicorn stickers if all they want to make is a monster.
Can the stickers be removed?
Yes, but with a caveat. This is a brand new product, and our testing has been limited. While the vinyl stickers are designed to be permanent, we have found they are still peel-able, so kids can re-create their Canoe Creatures using new stickers. Through our testing so far, we have learned it is always best to use fresh, new stickers for each subsequent creation because, once the old stickers have been peeled off the canoe paddle, the sticky coating becomes compromised, and the sticker may show damage from the removal process.
Can I use more than one sticker sheet?
Absolutely.
Mix stickers from different Paddle Sticker Sheets to invent entirely new Canoe Creature species!
Can I use the Paddle Stickers on other paddles?
Yes.
The Canoe Creature Paddle Sticker Sheets work with Badger Cub canoe paddles for kids, as well as any varnished wooden canoe paddle, as long as the surface is smooth, clean and free of any oily residue. Keep in mind that newer paddles will work better than those whose finish has been compromised by scratches or other wear and tear.
Are all Canoe Creatures the same?
No.
Each different paddle shape variation has its own personality, and every child creates something different.
