2025 GOAL = 1000 TREES PLANTED
From Tree to Paddle To Forest
We began in 2019 by planting 100 trees alongside a limited run of 10 Special Edition canoe paddles for our 10-year anniversary. In 2022, we introduced the Forest Edition paddles, planting one tree for every paddle sold. Over the next two years, we added 194 seedlings through our partnership with One Tree Planted.
In 2024, we celebrated 15 years with a goal of planting 1,000 trees—and surpassed it with 1,257 seedlings! Building on this success, we’re continuing the initiative in 2025, planting one tree for every Badger canoe paddle and five trees for each Forest Edition paddle purchased.
While Badger Paddles may be a small business with a very small marketing budget, we believe that even our limited resources are better spent on meaningful initiatives rather than online ads or promotional swag. Thus, we are going to continue to dedicate the majority of our marketing funds to reforestation efforts through One Tree Planted, with a goal of planting an additional 1,000 trees this season!

Reforestation can be defined as the process of replanting trees in areas that have been affected by natural disturbances like wildfires, drought, and insect and disease infestations — and unnatural ones like logging, mining, agricultural clearing, and development. This can mean anything from supporting natural regeneration in an area that has been degraded to planting ecologically appropriate tree seedlings after forest fires.

All Badger canoe paddles include a mini tree certificate hangtag to identify the paddle as part of our reforestation initiative. As well, each hangtag will highlight an official certificate number from onetreeplanted.org
