An Algonquin Christmas Carol: Paddling in a Winter Wonderland

This “Algonquin Carol” is whistled (or can be sang!) to the tune of the famous Holiday Christmas Carol: “Walking In A Winter Wonderland”. It is the same song, in every sense, but some of the lyrics have been reworked from the perspective of a paddler in Algonquin Park, Canada. We hope you enjoy this fun version of a classic carol.

A beautiful sight

Gone away are the crowds now

The view is clear off of our bow 

I’ll whistle a song, as we go along

Paddling in a winter wonderland. 

In the meadow there’s a short portage

With a felled tree to walk around

I’ll say: Are you tired? 

You’ll say: No ‘mam

I only feel the peace that we have found.

The north star draws even nearer

Reflected by the lake’s mirror   

We drift on and away   

In Algonquin, we play
