We truly could not have been more honoured when we were approached by The Voyageurs to provide some custom canoe paddles as a tribute for some of Canada’s most celebrated Olympians.

Thus, retiring soccer champions Christine Sinclair, Sophie Schmidt and Erin McLeod were each gifted their own custom Badger canoe paddles during part of the special home match festivities at Vancouver’s BC Place on 5 December 2023. And it was all smiles as they posed with their water sticks and celebrated with their fans at the end of their last match playing for the Canadian National Team. You can see those smiles for yourself when you click through the small collection of photos from Getty below.

For those who don’t know, Christine Sinclair is often referred to as the GOAT as she is one of our country’s greatest all-time athletes. So no doubt that she deserves to be revered along with star teammates Erin McLeod and Sophie Schmidt.

But it wasn’t just the women who were celebrated. We also created a custom paddle for another Canadian soccer legend, Atiba Hutchinson who also announced his retirement from playing for the Canadian National Team. Again, such an honour for us Badgers!

Thanks to The Voyageurs for entrusting us with such a special project for these very special Canadian athletes. We truly hope they dig their paddles now that they have more time off the pitch!
