Feather

Feather Canoe Paddle

The Feather is a paddle specifically designed for classic Canadian Style solo paddling with the canoe heeled over. The long thin blade is designed to be sliced or feathered through the water on back strokes rather than pulling the blade out on every stroke.

The length of the blade gives excellent control for doing maneuvers such as pivots, side slipping, etc. and the thinness makes it easy to slice and maneuver underwater. Even though it is a skinny paddle there is a lot of surface area on this blade due to its length.

We had been asked many times by style solo paddlers and instructors for a “Sliver-like” paddle with a longer blade to use specifically for solo style paddling. That is precisely what this paddle is. Smooth and quiet like a Sliver but extra long for effective maneuvering and control underwater.

Available in Cherry and sometimes available in other specialty woods such as Walnut, Ash, Sassafras, Tulipwood…Can be oiled, varnished or given our special combination finish of an oiled shaft and varnished blade, as well as our vibrantly tinted WaterColours™ finish. Personalized laser engraving is also available.

Includes a Badger Paddle Sock for transport and storage.
